Chain breaker
I remember hearing the story of a man who visited the burial chamber (cave) where Jesus' body was believed to be taken after his crucifixion. The man was apparently disappointed because he believed he would sense Jesus' Holy Spirit presence evidently in this place, but there was nothing!
Disappointment
Confused the man prayed to God and explained how he felt having travelled all the way from the UK to this very spot where he expected to sense something of the Holy Spirit's presence.
"Perhaps this was not Jesus' resting place after all", he thought. After the man opened his eyes, he turned around to leave the chamber, and as he did so, he looked up and noticed a sign on the doorway which read:
"He is not here - for he is risen."
Immediately, he realised an awesome truth! Jesus was not there because he had risen from the dead.
Burial site
Whether this particular burial site was or was not the actual resting place of Jesus all those years ago didn't actually matter, the fact remained, He was no longer dead in the grave...Jesus is alive!
Whatever your need, whatever your emotional pain, Jesus is waiting to break your chains and set you free. His Holy Spirit power is available to all who place their souls into his hands just like Jesus did on the cross when he cried out to God and said, "into your hands I commit my spirit."
Jesus broke the chains of death. He died, rose again by the power of the Holy Spirit and is sitting at the right hand of God today. And the same Holy Spirit power that raised Jesus up from death, is still available to all who call upon Him for help and salvation.
Place your life in God's hands today and you too can know God's Holy Spirit power smashing through whatever chains threaten to pull you down into a pit of despair. God's Holy Spirit will lift you up with new life, hope and a great future in His almighty care.
